Alongside your own CRM

You can also manage your customer relationships in Trendizz. Every company you contact has its own record, the : it shows every letter, call, task and reply in one place, along with the company's and its log, and works from it. So after finding companies, contacting them and handling their replies, the deal can continue here too. If your team stays with the CRM it already uses, that works as well. Companies that reply positively can move there automatically: either through an integration tool such as Zapier, Make or n8n, with no developer needed, or through a connection your developer builds. In the other direction, you can send over your own customers so that they receive no campaign letters. To set up the account, first read the guide that fits your setup: On my own, With a team or A separate team per country. This guide builds on them and shows the CRM connection.

This is for you if…
  • your company already keeps its customers and offers in a CRM and wants to stay with it;
  • you want interested companies to appear in the CRM automatically;
  • you want your existing customers to stay out of the campaigns.
What will be ready at the end

The CRM is notified of every positive reply and updates by the company's ID. If the CRM did not receive notifications for a while, the missed responders can still be retrieved afterwards. Your own customers are in Trendizz as , so they receive no campaign letters.

Six steps

Each step comes with the sentence you can copy into Apex, and what Apex does with it.

  1. Someone from your own company creates the live key

The is what opens the connection between your CRM and Trendizz. The live key is created by the company's or Superuser, on a paid plan. The key is tied to its creator's plan and role, so it should be created by someone who will stay with the company for the long term. The test key works on every plan: it is validated for real, but it writes nothing and returns sample data on reads. Only Administrators and Superusers see the API and menu item.

Where: Account menu › API and webhooks › Keys › Create live key
    Ask ApexApex tells you

We'd like to see the prospects in our Pipedrive. What do we need for that?

  2. A webhook for positive replies

A webhook is a notification that Trendizz sends to an address you choose for every positive reply: a signed JSON message, over HTTPS. Create a webhook endpoint for the Positive response event (positive_response.created). With an integration tool, the tool gives you a receiving address: enter it as the endpoint, and the tool writes the company into the CRM. Keep the signing secret (whsec_…) you receive when the endpoint is created; it lets you verify that a notification came from Trendizz. Webhook endpoints can be added on a paid plan.

Where: Account menu › API and webhooks › Webhooks › New endpoint
    Ask ApexApex tells you

How do we connect the webhook to Zapier?

  3. The CRM verifies and updates

If your developer connects it, the CRM verifies the signature on every incoming notification, filters out repeats by the event ID, and updates by the company's ID (pr_…), because the same company may arrive again later. Within a company, the contacts are in the rows array, one row per person. The calls are described at trendizz.com/developers.

Where: on the CRM side; incoming API calls appear under Account menu › API and webhooks › Call log
    Ask ApexApex tells you

How should the CRM verify the webhook signature?

  4. If the CRM falls behind

If the CRM did not receive the notifications for a while, it catches up through the API call for positive responders, from the last sync cursor it saved. Events can be requested again for 90 days.

Where: API, the call for positive responders; webhook deliveries under Webhooks
    Ask ApexApex tells you

Our CRM was down for two days. How do we catch up on what we missed?

  5. Your own customers as protected customers

You can send your existing customers to Trendizz as : through the API, or in the interface, by entering their domains. After that they receive no letters from any campaign.

Where: API, the call for protected customers; in the interface, Customer acquisition › Excluded domains › Exclude, with the reason Protected customer
    Ask ApexApex tells you

Our existing customers shouldn't get campaign letters. How do we send them over?

  6. Manual export while the connection is being built

Until the CRM connection is ready, you can also download the positive responders as CSV or Excel. The export is available for 30 days, and only the person who requested it can download it. It is available on paid plans.

    Where: Account menu › Export
Ask ApexApex does it, with your approval

Export the positive responders to Excel.

You start the download with the approval button.

What it costs

An example of the monthly fee. Plans are personal, per month, plus VAT.

The API and are part of the paid plans, at no extra charge. The person who creates the live key and the webhook needs a paid plan: for example a on the Start plan, €99 per month, plus VAT. The integration tool's fee is set by its provider.

Frequently asked questions

What most people ask in this situation.

Do we need a separate CRM if we work in Trendizz?

No. Trendizz has everything a sales team needs: each company's record holds every letter, call and task, the company's and , and the won and lost deals, and builds reports from them. Prospects who come in by phone or another way can be handled here too: tell Apex, and it opens the company's record by its (even if the company is not yet in our database), logs the call, and sets the owner and the task.

Is there a Pipedrive or HubSpot integration?

The connection runs through the and the API, so it works with any CRM; there is no separate built-in Pipedrive or HubSpot integration. These CRMs can be reached from integration tools, so positive responders can move across without a developer. Apex helps with the setup.

Does it come back to Trendizz if we win the deal in the CRM?

Not by itself, so we strongly recommend that you mark won and lost deals in Trendizz too. Tell Apex, and it closes the deal on the company's record as won or lost, with your approval. Apex learns from closed deals: from the reasons for winning and losing it builds a Market Mirror, and uses them to help you with your next negotiations. If you ask, it also takes the company out of the campaigns, so it receives no more campaign letters. The same goes for any other news: if, for example, you spoke to a company on the phone, tell Apex, and Apex logs the call and, if you ask, stops the campaign letters to that company. If Apex does not know about it, the campaign's letters keep going to the company.

Pitfalls

What most people run into, and how to avoid it.

The key is tied to whoever created it

If the creator leaves the team or is no longer an , the key stops and its endpoints do not deliver (events are still recorded in the meantime) until an Administrator or Superuser takes them over. After that they are tied to the plan of whoever took them over, so that person needs a paid plan too. If a marketer or a colleague who is leaving creates the key, the sync stops when they are . That is why someone from your own company should create it.

A live key needs a paid plan

If the creator's plan ends or a payment fails, live calls and pause, and they resume once the plan is sorted out.

The API hands over contact details

What goes out: the companies that replied positively, with their contact details, the exclusions, the events, the recipients of postal campaigns and the campaign figures. Search results, other companies and 's analyses stay in Trendizz.

Limits

1,000 calls per hour per company and per mode (test, live), the same again separately for report keys; and at most 10 webhook endpoints.
